The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is one of India’s premier institutions for fashion, design, technology, and management. The NIFT entrance exam is conducted annually for admissions into various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in design and fashion technology.

NIFT was established in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It has 18 campuses across India, with its headquarters in New Delhi. The institute offers programs in design, fashion technology, and fashion management.

- Eligibility Criteria
For B.Des and B.FTech
- Candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) from a recognized board.
- Students from any stream (Science/Commerce/Arts) can apply for B.Des.
- For B.FTech, candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12.
- The upper age limit is 24 years (relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST/PwD candidates).
For M.Des, M.FTech, and MFM
- Candidates must have a relevant undergraduate degree from a recognized university.
- No age limit applies for postgraduate courses.
- NIFT Entrance Exam Structure
The NIFT entrance exam consists of different tests based on the course applied for.
For B.Des Applicants
- General Ability Test (GAT) – Written exam to assess general knowledge, quantitative ability, analytical ability, and English proficiency.
- Creative Ability Test (CAT) – Evaluates creativity, observation skills, and innovation.
- Situation Test – Shortlisted candidates from CAT & GAT appear for this hands-on test to assess material handling and problem-solving skills.
For B.FTech Applicants
- Only General Ability Test (GAT) is required.
For M.Des Applicants
